In partnership with the University of Arizona, the Beyond Earth Institute is excited to announce the first annual Beyond Earth Institute Policy Symposium. The event will be held October 13, 2022, at the University of Arizona Washington, D.C. Center, a brand new, state of the art facility.

Chaired by retired USAF Brigadier General and Chairman of the Breakthrough Prize Foundation, Pete Worden, a man with decades of space policy experience, the Beyond Earth Symposium will be unlike any other conference in the space policy arena. This conference will examine the international and domestic policies that will enable economically vibrant communities beyond the earth.

With a targeted audience of key industry players, congressional and government actors, and academia alike, the Beyond Earth Symposium will do more than just examine the current state of space policy as it relates to communities beyond the Earth’s atmosphere. Instead, the proceedings of this symposium will stand as another active step in influencing the crucial policies that will shape humanity’s future among the stars.

Expert speakers will be showcased throughout the one-day symposium discussing a few of the most pressing space policy issues regarding the continued development of space capabilities. Capabilities that will be critical in paving the way for eventual beyond earth communities.

The policy challenges of commercial space stations, the foundations of a permanent lunar settlement: a cislunar ecosystem with a human presence, the safety and reliability of human spaceflight, and advanced financing models for future large scale space infrastructure projects highlight a few of the immensely important policy issues the Beyond Earth Fall Symposium plans to address.

The venue, the University of Arizona Washington D.C. Center, will operate as an indisputably excellent home for what will be an essential and informative space policy event. Featuring a several lounges, an open rooftop area, immersive visual opportunities, and a state-of-the-art presentation room, the U of A Center will not only provide a strong venue for the symposiums proceedings, but will also surely act as a catalyst for the space policy discussions and debates the Beyond Earth Fall symposium will elicit.
